Taunton Youth FC Community Trust will at all times ensure Government and The FA’s guidance is followed. This permits football training or fitness activities in groups of no more than six (with each group including a coach), keeping two metres apart at all times. Physical contact with anyone outside your household is not permitted. Therefore, playing of any games (small-sided or full) is also not permitted at this time.
ATTENDING THE TRAINING SESSION
Please only support their return to football activity when the player feels confident to do so and you feel the activity is safe and right for them. If you choose for your child to take part, the club will assume consent for participation and self checks have been conducted to protect other players. If in doubt, DO NOT ATTEND TRAINING.
Taunton Youth FC Community Trust will arrange a drop-off and pick-up system that avoids parents congregating and also implement a clearly signposted ‘one-way’ system into and out of the training facility. Please remain at a distance of 2m or greater from other parents.
THE TRAINING SESSION
If your child gets injured, a member of their household can aid them but others will still need to socially distance unless a life or limb-threatening injury necessitates breaking guidelines to provide emergency care.
Should a serious injury occur, Taunton Youth FC has ensured appropriate PPE will be available to the nominated First Aider to protect themselves and others if they need to break social-distancing guidelines to provide medical assistance.
Isolate until an NHS practitioner advises you that you no longer need to do so.
A document can be downloaded here for reference.
For the 2020 / 21 season fees remain unchanged and will be £450 for match squad players and £200 for the training group.
The cost is split over 10 monthly payments, payable on the first day of each month commencing in August. This means the last payment will be made 1 May 2020.
When setting up your payment please use the following ref: Age group - Surname - Initial, e.g. U15-Smith-J
The account to pay into is as follows:
Account name: Taunton Youth FC Community Trust
Account number: 15146685
Sort code: 60-05-06
It is important here to remind everyone that the trust is a not for profit organisation. We will keep revenue under constant review, and if at any point in the future we build a surplus this will be reinvested in the programme or used to lower the fees again. As a charity, our annual accounts have to be published meaning that there will always be transparency.
For new joiners we do offer a cooling off period so that players have the opportunity to work with the coaches. If a player decides they want to leave, as long as notice is given prior to the 30th September, there is no penalty. However, once you have committed to the programme and you or your child decides to leave after the 30th September, then two months advance notice is required. This means, for example, if your son/daughter wishes to finish at the end of March, you will need to give us notice in writing or email by the end of January. You will then be required to pay all fees due up to the end of March.
If a player has a long term injury, then monthly payments are still due, however an assessment will be made at the end of the season and dispensation given if a large amount of play / training has been missed. ie. Player breaks a leg and is off for eight weeks, April's and May's payment will not be required.
The purpose of Taunton Youth FC Community Trust is to advance amateur sport and promote community participation in healthy recreation through the provision of sports coaching and access to facilities for football players in school years 6-11 who live in and around Taunton.
Any child of qualifying age, regardless of footballing ability, is welcome to come and train with us (subject to club capacity).
The programme was granted Charitable Status in January 2019, We are therefore officially Taunton Youth FC Community Trust. The charity number is 1181212.
Taunton Youth FC Community Trust was awarded The FA Standard Charter in April 2020

In the Summer, players from the Taunton Town Community Trust were amongst almost 100 young people who attended a free health check session in Taunton in memory of Taunton man Gary Edwards who died suddenly, aged just 28 in 2015 and only weeks before he was due to get married. Gary tragically died from a previously undiagnosed heart condition.
Across the UK, more than 12 young people a week die of heart conditions and of these, around 80% are previously undiagnosed. This screening of young people can save lives and Gary’s parents are aiming to raise £5000 every year so that at least 100 young people can be screened locally.
Of the 95 people, aged 14 to 35, who took part in the tests for heart defects last weekend, 91 were given the all-clear, with four being referred for further investigation and any necessary treatment.
Gary's dad Terry has a long association with the Taunton Town Football Club, having played in excess of 500 games in the 1st team and reserves.
The check-ups by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), were paid for from a memorial fund set up in Gary's memory, by his mum Hilary Edwards. Her aim is to raise awareness and funds so that other young people can be screened to help prevent young sudden cardiac deaths.
